My usual Thursday morning ride was called off due to inclement weather. And I was pretty relieved too – 110km ride yesterday afternoon in the wind and heat left my legs a little depleted.
Under these circumstances I would normally take the sleep in. However, with my 52 week project in its infancy (2nd week) I thought it would be a great opportunity to crash in on a Group Exercise session.
I had a quick look online to check session availability at various Training Studios. Acumotum uses MindBodyOnline software for their online bookings. This is a system that we have recently implemented at Acacia Health and from my limited time using it I give it a huge thumbs up!

I arrived at the studio just before 6am to a very friendly greeting from Joss, the trainer. He said that I was the only one booked into the session – Warrior Workout. This meant that I had nowhere to hide!!!
We got straight into it with a jog – sprint – boxing – sit-up circuit for around 5min.
After that Joss had me pushing weighted bags, tyre flipping, rope swinging, sprinting, dragging a ViPR, pulling my body weight up and tucking my knees in. A wide range of various movements utilizing equipment to toughen the workout.
110km on the bike yesterday seemed a breeze compared to this 45min high intensity, full on energy session.
I was relieved when Joss called the last exercise, and a few dynamic stretches to finish off.
