Discussion on Sports nutrition…

~6hrs of ride time, 2hrs of massaging, 2hrs of getting kids outdoors (cycling, running, play equipment, etc) and 1hr of running requires adequate (but not necessarily specific) food/fuel/energy.  I remember hearing it at least once at school (when I just happened to be listening)…“Energy is not created or destroyed, it is merely transformed from one state to another.” Movement energy gets converted to Heat energy (“the fire”) – also known as metabolic rate.  The more you move, the hotter you get, the more calories you burn, the more you need to replace (i.e. food and drink).  There are good fuel choices (i.e. most of the time food/drink) and there are not-so-good fuel choices (i.e. some of the time food/drink).  As you can clearly see from the first pic, I chose a “some of the time” fuel choice.  As you can see from the pic below, so did Rusty (my training partner).

Sports nutrition is a science, but it’s not rocket science.

Move lots, eat well.
